Instructions

Prepare the Salmon

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Cut the salmon into bite-sized cubes (approximately 1-inch pieces).
  3. Season the salmon cubes generously with salt and pepper.

Prepare the Dressing

  1. In a measuring cup or bowl, combine soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, green onion, honey, and roasted sesame oil.
  2. Add grated fresh ginger and minced garlic to the mixture.
  3. Whisk until well combined.

Prepare the Vegetables

  1. Wash and thinly slice the cucumbers.
  2. Peel and slice or dice the avocados.
  3. Shred the carrots, if not using pre-shredded.

Cook the Salmon

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil if desired.
  2. Add the seasoned salmon cubes to the hot skillet in a single layer.
  3. Sear the salmon for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Carefully pour the prepared dressing over the seared salmon in the skillet.
  5. Stir and cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the salmon.

Assemble the Bowls

  1. Divide the cooked rice among serving bowls.
  2. Arrange the cooked salmon with sauce over the rice.
  3. Add a portion of sliced cucumbers, shredded carrots, and sliced avocado to each bowl.

Garnish and Serve

  1. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the salmon and the entire bowl, if desired.
  2. Serve immediately.

Chef's Notes & Tips

Tip 1 of 3

The video shows a considerable amount of cucumbers being sliced and dressed separately before being added to the bowl. This suggests they are intended to be a fresh component.

Tip 2 of 3

The cooking time for salmon can vary depending on the thickness of the pieces and desired doneness.

Tip 3 of 3

This recipe is adaptable, feel free to add other vegetables or seasonings to your preference.
