  • 2 ½cupPecan Halves(whole)

Instructions

Brownie Base

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
  2. 2 In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
  3. 3 Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  4. 4 Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.

Pecan Topping

  1. 1 While the brownie base is par-baking, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. 2 Fold in the pecan halves.
  3. 3 Once the brownie base has finished its initial 20 minutes, carefully pour the pecan mixture over the top.
  4. 4 Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the center is set and the topping appears glossy.
  5. 5 Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out by the parchment edges and cutting into 16 squares.
